Patrice Munden & ASID Students Redesign Community Room at YWCA

Patrice Munden, the Missouri-East Chapter of ASID and a team of local interior design students re-designed the TV room for the Metro St. Louis YWCA’s Transitional Housing Program. New furniture, art and accessories were provided through donations from local businesses and residents. The goal of the renovation was to create a more functional and inviting space to encourage interaction among program participants as well as relaxation and entertainment.

Habitat for Humanity Community Project

Patrice Munden Interior Design once again participated in At Home Magazine’s Habitat for Humanity Project– a wonderful service program where a team of local interior designers complete the decor for a family who has just moved into their new Habitat for Humanity home. With the family’s input, the designers painted, installed furniture, accessories, rugs — everything that was needed to make the home all that the family dreamed it could be. Local retailers such as Rothman’s Furniture, The Designing Block, Dau Furniture and many others donated all of the furniture and accessories for the homes.

Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center Living Green Show House

St. Louis Homes and Lifestyles Magazine along with Cardinal Glennon’s Children’s Medical Center sponsored the area’s first-ever “living green” designer show house. The home showcased the work of 30 of St. Louis’s top ASID interior designers who used sustainable, recycled and energy-saving products throughout the house. Proceeds from the show house went to the children’s center.

Patrice Munden Interior Design designed and completed the lower-level guest bathroom. The show house displayed the benefits and beauty of eco-living and green building at it’s best.

Habitat for Humanity Project

Patrice along with a team of local interior designers teamed with St. Louis at Home Magazine to complete the interior design of a Habitat for Humanity home. All furniture, paint, accessories—everything—was donated by St. Louis Businesses and individuals and coordinated by the designers.

The owner of the house was a 23 year old day-care teacher and the mother of two young children. Recently this Mom’s own mother had passed away and she opened her doors to care for her 17-year old sister as well.

Patrice and the other designers met with the family, found out what their needs were, their favorite colors, furniture and any special wishes that they had for their new home. The family asked the designers to ” make our dreams come true.”

Design Team who completed house #4: Jill Bolzenius , Lynn Bueler, Caryn Burstein, Kris Keller, Ellen Kurtz, Patrice Munden, Wendy Noory and Barb Slavkin
